## VIRTUAL WORKING SESSION

# After Day 1: The Four Clocks Ticking in Every Deal

## Nov. 4, 2026 | 1:00 p.m. CT

Announcement day gets treated as the finish line. The work that determines whether a deal holds its value starts the following morning.

The active communications phase typically runs 60 to 120 days, and integration communications continue for six to 18 months. Inside that window, employees from both companies staff the same trade show booth, competitors reframe the deal as a distraction, partners ask contract questions that have no clean answer yet, and analysts grade the integration story against whatever was promised on day one.

This session returns to the four clocks and resets them for the period after the news is public, when containment is no longer available and the scrutiny is continuous.

Kathleen Lucente and Emma Chase cover the shift from a one-time employee FAQ to a sustained internal cadence, how to prepare account teams before competitors get to their accounts, and what board reporting requires once synergies have been named publicly.

What you'll take away:

1. A 30, 60 and 90-day communications calendar for the period after the announcement.
2. How to move employee communications from a single FAQ to a sustained cadence, including the trade show and customer-facing scenarios most plans miss.
3. What board and investor reporting looks like once day one promises are on the record.

Meet your hosts

Kathleen ran communications for JPMorgan's Asia-Pacific portfolio. She spent years on the buyer side of agency selection at LabMorgan and IBM Research. She's been in your shoes—the person asking "Who can I trust?" with a moment that will define how your board sees you. For nearly 20 years, Kathleen has helmed Red Fan Communications, working with B2B tech CMOs through transactions, funding rounds, and the ordinary high-stakes Tuesdays that never make the headlines.

Emma has led communications strategies for more than a decade, including Q2's multiple technology acquisitions, CSI's take-private, Hyliion's SPAC mid-COVID and Fluence's sale to Signify. Her specialty is discerning resonant stakeholder messaging from corporate fluff. She has collaborated directly with cross-functional integration management teams to ensure messaging holds for employees, customers, analysts and investors who will all read it on the same morning.
